In its simplest form, an LED display is an electrical circuit fit with tiny lights called LED’s (Light Emitting Diodes). The LED’s light up when electricity is passed through them, and the circuit board conducts the flow of electricity in such a way that the LED’s light up to form words, images, motion and animation.

The advantaged of using LED’s as opposed to other light-emitting technologies is two-fold. In addition, LED’s come in a variety of shades and colors and can be combined to create just about any color imaginable. Lastly, LED’s are very long-lasting and don’t burn out very often. They can last for up to 10,000 years!
